It depends on how often you burn and the size of your stove or fireplace. As a rough guide:
Occasional use (weekends and evenings): 1–2 cubic metres should last a full winter season.
Regular use (daily heating): 3–4 cubic metres is a good starting point.
Primary heat source: You may need 5+ cubic metres per season.
If you're not sure, just get in touch and we'll help you work out what you need.
Yes! We offer a log stacking service for £30 per cubic metre, available as an add-on to any firewood delivery. We'll neatly stack your logs wherever you need them — in your log store, garage, shed or against a wall. You can add stacking when you place your order.
Absolutely. We supply firewood to pubs, restaurants, glamping sites, hotels and other businesses across the region. We can arrange regular deliveries on a schedule that works for you, and bulk discounts are available for larger orders. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Kindling is available as an add-on to any firewood order only. It cannot be ordered as a standalone product as it would not be practical to deliver on its own. Simply add it when prompted after selecting your firewood.
We sell a premium hardwood mix — primarily ash and oak, with some cherry and other species depending on what's being sustainably harvested. Our firewood is split and dried right here on the farm. Most of the wood we source comes directly from the farm — some comes from other local farms within Worcestershire and Herefordshire, and we do not sell wood from any further afield. Every log is fully sustainably sourced.
Yes. All our firewood is Woodsure Ready to Burn certified — the UK's only official quality assurance scheme for firewood. Every batch is tested and guaranteed to have a moisture content below 20%, which means a cleaner burn, more heat output and less tar and soot buildup in your chimney or flue.
Yes — we apply a 5% discount automatically on all orders of 2m³ or more. The discount is applied at checkout — no code needed. For very large or commercial orders, get in touch and we'll put together a custom quote for you.
We recommend the top-down method — it's cleaner, produces less smoke, and gets your fire going more efficiently:
1. Place 2–3 larger logs on the base of your stove or fireplace.
2. Add a layer of smaller kindling on top in a criss-cross pattern.
3. Place a natural firelighter on top and light it.
4. Leave the door slightly ajar (if using a stove) for the first 5 minutes to build airflow.
The fire burns downwards, producing very little smoke and lighting quickly. Kindling is available as an add-on when you select a firewood product — just add it when prompted during checkout.
Ash is widely considered the best all-round firewood — it burns hot, clean and steadily, and produces very little smoke. Oak burns longer and is great for sustained heat overnight. Cherry lights easily and gives a lovely bright flame, but burns faster.
Our hardwood mix typically includes a blend of these species, giving you the best of all worlds — easy lighting, strong heat and a long, steady burn.
Keep your firewood in a well-ventilated, covered area — a log store, open-fronted shed or lean-to is ideal. The key is to keep rain off the top while allowing airflow around the sides to prevent moisture from building up.
Avoid storing logs directly on the ground — use a pallet, rack or gravel base to keep them raised. And try not to stack them right up against a wall, as air needs to circulate on all sides.
A few simple habits will keep your stove performing well for years:
Empty the ash pan regularly — a small layer of ash actually helps insulate the firebox, but too much restricts airflow.
Have your chimney swept at least once a year, ideally before the burning season starts.
Burn only dry, seasoned or split and dried wood — wet or unseasoned wood causes tar buildup and can damage your flue.
Check the door seals and glass periodically and replace gaskets when they become worn.
Burning Woodsure Ready to Burn firewood (like ours!) significantly reduces the amount of soot and tar produced, keeping your stove and chimney in better condition.
