1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all orders placed with Walkers Wood ("we", "us", "our"), a firewood business operated by Ed Walker, based at Clifton upon Teme, Worcestershire, WR6 6DT.
By placing an order with us, you ("the customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.
2. Orders
All orders are placed through our website. When you submit an order, you are making an offer to purchase our products. We will confirm acceptance of your order by email or phone, at which point a binding contract is formed.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, for example if the product is unavailable or if there is an error in pricing. If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.
3. Pricing & Payment
- All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.
- Delivery charges, if any, are shown clearly at checkout before you complete your order.
- Payment is taken securely at the time of ordering via Stripe. We accept major debit and credit cards.
- We do not store your card details — all payment information is handled by Stripe in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.
4. Delivery
4.1 Delivery Area
- We deliver within a maximum radius of 20 miles from our base in Clifton upon Teme, WR6 6DT.
- Delivery is free for addresses within 10 miles of our base.
- For addresses between 10 and 20 miles, a delivery charge applies and will be displayed at checkout.
- We are unable to deliver to addresses beyond 20 miles. If your postcode falls outside our delivery area, you will be notified during the order process.
4.2 Delivery Times
- We aim to deliver within 5–7 working days of your order being confirmed, depending on demand and weather conditions.
- Delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. We will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery time.
- If you are not available for delivery, we may leave the firewood in an agreed safe location at your property. Once delivered, the firewood becomes your responsibility.
4.3 Access
You are responsible for ensuring that our delivery vehicle can safely access your property. Our firewood is delivered by trailer or truck, and we require suitable access for larger vehicles. If access issues prevent delivery, we may need to rearrange at an additional cost.
5. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Cancellations
You can cancel your order up to 2 days before your selected delivery date. Cancellations made within 2 days of your selected delivery date are non-refundable.
Returns
Once your firewood has been unloaded, we are unable to accept any returns or offer any refunds.
6. Product Quality
- All our firewood is Woodsure Ready to Burn certified, guaranteeing it meets industry standards for quality and sustainability.
- Our split and dried logs have a moisture content of less than 20%, ensuring efficient and clean burning.
- We recommend storing your firewood in a dry, well-ventilated area to maintain its quality. Logs left exposed to the elements may absorb moisture and may not burn as efficiently.
7. Limitation of Liability
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
- Subject to the above, our total liability to you in respect of any order shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that order.
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special losses arising from your use of our products or services.
- We are not responsible for any damage caused by improper use of our products, including but not limited to burning in unsuitable appliances or failing to follow manufacturer guidelines.
8. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather conditions (storms, flooding, snow, ice)
- Natural disasters
- Pandemic or public health emergencies
- Government restrictions or regulations
- Supply chain disruptions
- Vehicle breakdown or road closures
In such circumstances, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to find a suitable alternative delivery date.
9. Your Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate and complete delivery details when placing your order.
- You must ensure safe and suitable access for our delivery vehicle.
- You are responsible for storing firewood correctly once delivered.
- You must be over 18 years of age to place an order.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your orders shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Changes will not apply retrospectively to orders already placed.
